MEMBER CODE OF CONDUCT

DANAI operates under a strict Code of Conduct.

All Members are registered nurses with a valid NMBI number. They must agree to and sign the Code of Conduct as stated in the Membership Application process. Members of DANAI agree to:

  1. We practice to specialist standards as specialist medical aesthetic nurses.

  2. We help members understand their professional responsibilities in caring for patients in a safe, ethical and effective way.

  3. The purpose of the Code is to guide nurses in their day-to-day practice.

  4. Patients have a right to receive quality care by competent nurses who practice in a safe environment.

  5. Competency is the legal test for nurses in Ireland. We have a registered specialist framework, competencies and pathway we adhere to.

  6. DANAI works for nurses rights to work within their scope of practice.

By laying down these standard we ensure each member adheres to them to develop and maintain a high level of patient safety. We document our progress and lobby the Irish government and medicine board to recognise that nurses should be allowed a higher degree of autonomy whilst working within their scope of practice.
