Aesthetic nursing continues to evolve at the intersection of dermatology, clinical science, and patient centred care. As interest in skin health, medical aesthetics, and advanced nursing roles grows, there is increasing value in creating spaces where nurses can engage with contemporary clinical discussions, emerging evidence, and shared professional experiences.

The DANAI Education Information Day in February 2026 has been developed with this purpose at its core.

This event is designed to bring aesthetic nurses together to engage with clinically focused topics that reflect the realities of modern aesthetic nursing. The day offers informed discussion, expert insight, and exposure to current thinking across dermatology, complications management, hormonal skin health, and consultation science.

This event is suitable for NMBI registered nurses, attendees gain six CPD points, supporting ongoing professional engagement and reflective practice.

Skin conditions such as acne are frequently encountered in aesthetic settings and sit firmly within the overlap of dermatology and aesthetics. One of the clinical conversations explored during the day by Christina O'Rourse DANAI Chairperson focuses on evidence based approaches to acne management within nursing scope of practice. By examining assessment, treatment planning, and long term skin health strategies, this session encourages nurses to view acne through a clinical lens rather than a purely cosmetic one, supporting safer and more structured patient care.

Another key area of discussion centres on aesthetic complications, an unavoidable reality of practice that requires strong clinical awareness and early recognition. This presentation by Sharon King of ACE World Group explores how complications can be identified, prevented, and managed using diagnostic frameworks and evidence based pathways. These conversations are particularly relevant for aesthetic nurses working in independent or multidisciplinary settings, where clinical judgement, escalation, and patient safety are central to professional practice.

Ageing skin and hormonal influences represent another important clinical dimension of aesthetic nursing. This presentation includes expert discussion by Mary Keltai on how oestrogen, progesterone, and testosterone impact skin health and overall wellbeing, alongside the role of topical therapies and hormone replacement considerations. This topic resonates strongly with nurses caring for peri-menopausal and menopausal patients, where skin changes often prompt aesthetic consultation but are deeply connected to systemic health.

Clinical practice in aesthetics extends beyond technical treatments and into the consultation itself. Understanding patient behaviour, expectations, and communication styles is essential for safe and ethical care. This presentation by Julie Scott includes an evidence-based exploration of patient personality frameworks and how they influence consultation outcomes. By deepening insight into patient psychology, aesthetic nurses can enhance consent processes, manage expectations, and approach consultations with greater clarity and compassion.

The DANAI Education Information Day offers aesthetic nurses an opportunity to step back from day-to-day practice and engage with the wider clinical conversations shaping the specialty. It is a space for listening, reflection, and professional connection rather than instruction or certification. For nurses with an interest in dermatology and medical aesthetics, this event provides meaningful, relevant content that supports professional development and contributes six CPD points in line with NMBI requirements.

At DANAI, our aim is to support engagement and community within aesthetic nursing. By bringing experienced experts, clinicians and industry leaders together in one setting, the Education Information Day creates an environment where knowledge can be shared, perspectives broadened, and professional identity within aesthetics strengthened.
